You guys had A LOT of great things to say about ‘Don’t Forget Where You Belong’ this week. Here’s Sarah’s review of the 1D track:
Don't Forget Where You Belong is the 6th track on One Direction's 3rd album, Midnight Memories. As soon as the lyrics start, you know it's about the boys being away from home whilst on tour and doing promos etc. It has a great meaning to it, almost saying 'It doesn't matter how big and famous we get, we will never forget you and I'll always be there for you just as your here for me' to their families.
I like the first 2 verses because they're explaining that they've been around the world and seeing lots of people but they will always remember their friends and families back home ('I know the sun will be rising back home & I know the moon will be rising back home'). I also like the lyrics 'Don't matter how far I've gone - I'm always feeling at home' because I can picture the boys saying that they feel at home everywhere they go because they enjoy their job so much.
The boys vocals are amazing in this song and with the backing vocals towards the end of the song gives it that "something else". The tune is catchy and starts of soft but then builds up through the chorus (which dies down for a verse at the end revelling a catchy drum beat and great vocals which you can hear again as the song finishes) but for each verse, it dies down again.
DFWYB was one of my favorite songs (Along with Midnight Memories and Better Than Words) when I heard the album for the first time because of its’ lyrics, its’ catchy tune and strong vocals. All the songs on this album have a more grown up sound to it (As the boys say many times - 'We're growing up so we want the songs too') and (I can probably guess) have more meaning to the lyrics which are more close to their hearts than the first 2 albums. As always, Excellent job. Another amazing album!!
